- Pause an agent: a pause button beside Send lets an agent finish the step it's on and then wait until you press play. The transcript shows "Paused", messages you send meanwhile reach it when you resume, and Interrupt is now a stop symbol beside pause and play. Works for Claude, Codex and Antigravity agents.
- Effort alongside model: pick an effort level (low to max; Codex models stop at xhigh) with the model in the message box's ⋯ menu, as a default for new tasks in Settings, for each workflow stage and team agent, and when continuing on another model. The transcript shows the effort a session runs at.
- Nested diagrams: a box in a diagram can hold a diagram of its own, marked with a magnifier. Open it from the full-size view, follow the breadcrumb back up, and click the ghost of an outside box to return to it.
- Diagrams as HTML and images: the full-size diagram view exports a standalone web page that zooms, pans, highlights and opens nested diagrams like the app (agents can make one with
export_diagram), and right-clicking a diagram (long-press on iPhone) copies it as an image. - Random workflow steps: a workflow can hold a "one at random" group of weighted stages, and each run or review picks one when it starts; the workflow diagram shows each stage's chance. Agents also get a
random_choicetool, so "choose at random" makes a real weighted pick. - Captures tab: once a task's agent takes a screenshot, the task gets a Captures tab listing each one, newest first, with the tool that took it.
- Save Copy from the Files tab: save the open file, or any file in a listing via right-click, to your Mac.
- Keyboard task lists: in the ⌘T and ⌘P task lists, the arrow keys move through tasks and Return opens one. A + button in the task bar opens the task picker, like ⌘K.
- Filter TODO items: ⌘F on a project's page filters its TODO list.
- Install tools from the Server tab: each missing tool (Homebrew, git, Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, Node.js, Google Chrome) has a Run in Terminal button that installs it and starts its sign-in. The tab marks Claude Code and Codex "Not signed in" when they need it, and rechecks every few seconds so a tool shows as found as soon as it's ready.
- Startup checklist: opening byre and "Run byre on this Mac" show each step (start Tailscale, sign in, find servers, connect) with a check mark when done, a Sign in button where one is needed, and the reason when connecting fails.
- Easier first project: the welcome message and an empty project view tell you to point the lead at a git repository, and the lead can find one from a hint or create a new one.
- Pages load files beside them: HTML pages in the Page view load stylesheets, scripts and images by relative path from wherever the page lives on the server, and reload only when one of their own files changes.
- Paste images on iPhone: paste images, including screenshots copied with "Copy and Delete", straight into iPhone message boxes, and the new-task box in the task switcher has the ⋯ menu for photos. Tapping the task list icon again returns to the task you were on.
- Faster transcripts: the app keeps each task's transcript on disk, so after a relaunch it fetches only what's new, and large responses from the server are compressed. Forking a long task or continuing a closed one is quicker too.
- Replies to mid-turn messages: a message you send while an agent is working gets an answer before its next tool call. When you send images mid-turn, the agent ends its turn promptly so it can see them.
- Clearer snapshot labels: snapshots show a plain reason, such as "turn ended", "question asked" or "before forking".
- Wrapped diffs: long lines in the Changes view wrap to the pane width.
Fixed
- Stop always stops: after you press Stop, the task shows "Stopping…" and then "turn stopped", an agent that doesn't respond is ended, and commands it started (such as dev servers) are stopped with it.
- Background work survives restarts: when a restart kills an agent's background helpers, byre wakes the agent to redo that work instead of leaving it waiting forever.
- Subtask reviews: a subtask is reviewed against its parent task's branch, so reviewers see only its own work.
- No review warning without reviewers: the merge dialog no longer warns about unreviewed changes in projects with no review workflow.
- Setup on a new Mac: the server finds tools installed through your shell profile (such as Claude Code in
~/.local/bin), turning the server off and on from the Server tab no longer leaves none running, a new server gets up to 2 minutes to come up on the tailnet, and permission hints use macOS 27's names and point at the right entry. - Reconnects after sleep: the Mac app reconnects as soon as the Mac wakes or its network changes.
- Narrow windows: the panes no longer overflow in a narrow window; header and message-box controls wrap, and left-pane tabs fold into a More menu.
- Diagram layout and zoom: diagrams are laid out more evenly with room for labels and crossing arrows, clicks in the full-size view select boxes reliably, and wide diagrams draw in full when zoomed.
- iPhone servers: the iPhone app forgets servers that have left the tailnet, no longer shows a server as found before Tailscale can reach it, and keeps loading pages after returning from the background.
- Agents on screen: agents' typed shortcuts and capitals press real modifier keys, and scrolling in virtual machine windows goes the right way.
- Terminal command notices: an agent is told when any command it ran in a task terminal finishes.
- Smaller fixes: the Page view takes keyboard focus when it opens, relative times like "5m ago" keep updating, images in tool results show as a short label instead of raw data, diff colors in the Changes view fill edge to edge, removing a server clears its unsent drafts, the lead moves your right pane only when another task needs you, and newer Claude Code versions no longer log unknown messages.
