# Riverdi RVT70HSTNWC00-B datasheet — transcription
Full visual transcription (tables intact) of the Riverdi public datasheet
`DS_RVT70HSTNWC00-B Rev.1.2` ("IPS RGB 7.0" LCD TFT DATASHEET", TFT Module Specification), all
19 pages. Source PDF alongside as
[riverdi-rvt70hstnwc00-b-datasheet.pdf](riverdi-rvt70hstnwc00-b-datasheet.pdf).
This is the **TFT panel** — parallel RGB interface, 3.3 V, driven directly by the host's pixel
clock. It is the panel inside the HDMI module
[RVT70HSHNWC00-B](riverdi-rvt70hshnwc00-b-datasheet.md), whose section 11 names it (as
"RVT70HSTNWC00-B") and defers all display detail here. It is therefore the only source for the
panel's timing numbers: section 13.3 carries the DE-mode and HV-mode tables the module
datasheet omits.
Note what this timing does and does not govern. On the HDMI module the RTD2660H scaler owns
this RGB interface and retimes whatever arrives over HDMI onto it, so these figures are the
panel's own limits, not the timing a HDMI source must send.
Transcription notes:
- Each page's content begins with an HTML comment page marker `` (N = the printed
datasheet page number) for cross-reference and continuity.
- Every specification, pinout and criteria table is reproduced as a Markdown table. Cells merged
across rows in the original are repeated per row.
- Graphical figures, waveform diagrams and the mechanical drawing are **not** pixel-reproduced;
they are given a short prose description prefixed `*Figure (described):*`, with all dimension
and label callouts transcribed.
- Pure transcription: no cabletest commentary is interleaved, and typographic errors in the
original (e.g. "OPATICAL BONDING", "Add" inch" unit") are reproduced as printed.

## 4. uxTouch ASSEMBLY
uxTouch are LCD TFT displays with specially designed projected capacitive touch panels.
uxTouch display can be mounted without any additional holes in the housing. Our standard
uxTouch displays include double-sided adhesive tape (DST) to stick TFT easily to the housing.
uxTouch models with double-side adhesive tape can be mounted by fastening the glass to the
housing.
*Figure 1. General view of the module*
*Figure (described):* two 3-D renderings of the module in a blue housing — front view showing
the grey active area behind the cover glass, and rear three-quarter view showing the green
panel PCB and flex tail recessed into the housing.

**Note 1.** Contrast Ratio (CR) is defined mathematically as below, for more information see
Figure 3.
> Contrast Ratio = Average Surface Luminance with all white pixels (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5) ÷
> Average Surface Luminance with all black pixels (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5)
**Note 2.** Surface luminance is the LCD surface from the surface with all pixels displaying
white. For more information see Figure 3.
---
> Lv = Average Surface Luminance with all white pixels (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5)
**Note 3.** The uniformity in surface luminance δ WHITE is determined by measuring luminance at
each test position 1 through 5, and then dividing the minimum luminance of 5 points luminance
by maximum luminance of 5 points luminance. For more information see Figure 3.
> δ WHITE = Minimum Surface Luminance with all white pixels (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5) ÷
> Maximum Surface Luminance with all white pixels (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5)
**Note 4.** Response time is the time required for the display to transition from white to
black (Rise Time, Tr) and from black to white (Decay Time, Tf). For additional information see
Figure 2. The test equipment is Autronic-Melchers's ConoScope series.
**Note 5.** CIE (x, y) chromaticity, the x, y value is determined by measuring luminance at each
test position 1 through 5, and then make average value.
**Note 6.** Viewing angle is the angle at which the contrast ratio is greater than 2. For TFT
module the contrast ratio is greater than 10. The angles are determined for the horizontal or x
axis and the vertical or y axis with respect to the z axis which is normal to LCD surface. For
more information see Figure 4.
**Note 7.** For viewing angle and response time testing, the testing data is based on
Autronic-Melchers's ConoScope series. Instruments for Contrast Ratio, Surface Luminance,
Luminance Uniformity, CIE the test data is based on TOPCON's BM-5 photo detector.
*Figure 2. The definition of response time*
*Figure (described):* optical response versus time trace. The vertical axis is marked 0%, 10%,
90% and 100%. The trace starts at 100% ("white"), falls through the 90%→10% band in the
interval marked Tr, holds at 0% ("black"), then rises back through 10%→90% in the interval
marked Tf, returning to 100% ("white").

LV1N/P, LV2N/P, LV3N/P, LVCLKN/P, RESET, STBYB, VCOM, VDD, GND, VLED+, VLED-` feeds three
blocks to its left: "Gate driver IC", "Source driver IC +TCON" and "Back light". The gate and
source driver blocks in turn feed the "LCD Panel 7.0 inch 1024×600" block; the backlight block
feeds it as well.

**Note 3.** Data shall be latched at the falling edge of DCLK.
**Note 4.** Selection of scanning mode:
| SETTING OF SCAN CONTROL INPUT — U/D | SETTING OF SCAN CONTROL INPUT — L/R | SCANNING DIRECTION |
| --- | --- | --- |
| GND | DVDD | Up to down, left to right |
| DVDD | GND | Down to up, right to left |
| GND | GND | Up to down, right to left |
| DVDD | DVDD | Down to up, left to right |
**Note 5.** Definition of scanning direction, refer to the figure as below:
*Figure (described):* plan view of the module with its flex tail leaving the bottom edge. Arrows
label the four directions relative to that orientation: Up (arrow at the top edge pointing
down into the panel), Down (at the tail), Left (arrow entering the left edge pointing right)
and Right (arrow leaving the right edge).
**Note 6.** Global reset pin. Active low to enter reset state, suggest connecting with an RC
reset circuit for stability. Normally pull high.
**Note 7.** Dithering function enable control, normally pull high.
When DITHUB="1", Disable internal dithering function.
When DITHUB="0", Enable internal dithering function.

## 13. TIMING CHARACTERISTICS
### 13.1 Horizontal input timing
*Figure (described):* horizontal timing waveform. Traces top to bottom: HSD (horizontal sync,
active-low pulse whose width is marked "H pulse width (thpw)"); CLK (free-running pixel clock);
then, under the heading "( HV mode)", three data buses D07~D00, D17~D10 and D27~D20 carrying
R, G and B samples respectively; then the same three buses again under the heading "( DE
mode)"; then DEN (data enable). Along the bottom, the line is divided into
`H back porch (thbp)`, `Active Area(thd)` and `H front porch (thfp)`, spanning
`Total Area(th)`.
### 13.2 Vertical input timing
*Figure (described):* vertical timing waveform. Traces top to bottom: VSD (vertical sync,
active-low pulse whose width is marked tvpw); HSD (horizontal sync burst, continuous through
the frame); DEN (data enable, gated on only during the active lines). Along the bottom the
frame is divided into `tvb`, `tvd` and `tvfp`, spanning `tv`.
